The Principal ‘has been instrumental in promoting a culture of high aspirations to drive the necessary school improvement.’ Ofsted 2017

I am exceptionally delighted and proud to welcome you to Waverley Studio College which is a ‘good’ school. Our Studio College is designed for 14-19 year olds of all abilities. We offer a range of academic and vocational qualifications as well as work placements linked directly to employment opportunities. We want nothing less than a great education for all our pupils. Our motto “Unlock talent, Create Future and Change Lives”.

I have the privilege of leading a team of outstanding staff who inspire and nurture students to achieve both academic excellence and strength of character through pastoral support; and therefore produce young people who have a positive, transformative impact on society. Our focus is to improve the quality of teaching and learning even further and ensure our students achieve the best they possibly can.

The students who join the school have access to first-class support with class sizes of no more than 20, excellent facilities and exciting opportunities.  They are subject to very high academic rigour and are stretched and challenged in their learning and personal development.

I have high expectations for attendance, uniform, behaviour and attitude to learning, which form the foundations for success. Traditional values like respect, discipline, and hard work are cherished. Our students are coached and challenged to manage themselves and become mature and successful adults.   We champion and celebrate progress in all aspects of students’ lives.  Our students demonstrate high standards of behaviour at all times and uniform is worn with pride. These are the high expectations which Ofsted praised so strongly when we were inspected in Jan 2017.

Students are recognised as individuals; yet we act together as a strong family, proud of the Waverley Studio College values and ethos which act as a foundation for all we do.  Their time in school is enhanced by an exciting enrichment offer and rich and varied curriculum.

We recognise that it takes a whole community to educate a child, and I am committed to working in partnership with parents and carers. My expectations of all the students at Waverley Studio College are high and I am passionate about ensuring that there are no barriers to learning. We will provide the highest quality personalised learning, support and care, to foster ambition, raise aspiration, ensure the highest achievement and help students to make a positive contribution to society.

I am looking forward to celebrating with you the successes your child will experience in the coming years. You are very welcome to come and meet us to get a real feel of what we offer. Our door is open to all who are interested and we’re happy to answer your questions
