On 9th March 2016, all of Year 11 had the pleasure of watching the novel ‘Of Mice and Men’ being performed in a magical theatre experience at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton.

Year 11 have studied Of Mice and Men as part of a Controlled Assessment and they will be answering a question on this as part of an exam.

Of Mice and Men is a novella written by author John Steinbeck, published in 1937.  It tells the story of George Milton and Lennie Small, two displaced migrant ranch workers, who move from place to place in California in search of new job opportunities during the Great Depression in the United States. It is a modern day classic and a text that all the pupils have enjoyed reading.

Throughout the day the pupils were impeccable and thoroughly enjoyed the performance, including the gripping fight sequence between Lennie and Curley.

“The trip was amazing as it was my first time to the theatre, it was fun.” – Year 11 pupil.
