Waverley Studio College has been working alongside Heartlands Educational Trust Since September 2013. They offer work experience placements to our Year 12 and 13 students who are following a Level 3 BTEC Health & Social Care Course.

It is a two year programme. The first year is an administration based placement in the offices at the hospital where the students learn and improve on their communication and interaction skills, becoming confident in dealing with different people. The second year they are based on the wards in a clinical role. They train to be Health Care Assistants.

This has been a very successful programme, enabling our students to use the skills learnt at university.  Meeting with the staff at Heartlands earlier this month, the Year 13 students, who are coming to the end of their placements, have excelled themselves.  They have received praise from the staff on the wards that they work alongside and are a credit to our college.  Year 12 students, who are currently based there, have a lot to live up to.  Well done year 13 HSC students!
